A great birthday cake for those golfers out there
Gooey chocolate cake, and buttons made from icing – this is my kind of technology!
The recipient is an avid Celtic fan, so of course that needed to feature somewhere.
The idea for this cake was to have animals silhouetted against an African sunset for the bottom tier of the cake, then have the two lions on the grassy savannah at the top surrounded by jungle-like foliage.
The birthday was for twins – a boy and a girl, so there was one lion for each on top of the cake.
Sparkles and glitter finished it off perfectly.

Two pirates gathering treasure on a desert island surrounded by shark infested waters! Great for a boy and girl sharing a birthday party.
This was a chocolate cake covered in buttercream icing with the decorations all hand moulded from sugarpaste icing.

I think this is my favourite cake so far – it just made me smile as I was making it… a spot of nostalgia perhaps? Winnie the Pooh has that effect, happy memories!
The tree is gooey chocolate cake, covered in chocolate icing. The grass is textured green icing and the figures are all hand made from sugarpaste and as always are 100% edible.

A bluebird’s nest.
I know, I know… Princess Leah has brown hair not blond, but the little girl whose party this is for has blond hair and wanted Princess Leah to look like her. Who am I to say different?!
This is the lego version of The Millenium Falcon in cake form. Everything is edible.
Be warned if making this at home that it takes time to make lots of lego blobs. If you have neither the time nor inclination, get in touch with me and order one from Etoile!
